New approaches follow the yearly cycle. First, the renunciation of layering, then the total renunciation of complex patterns, finally the complete renunciation of the systematic artwork. 17 years of painting with formal systems or programs meant dominance of color in the formation process. The colors were intuitively defined according to the poetic message of the picture. A direct definition of form, in contrast, was avoided. The design of form was delegated to a program. Thus the colors were personal, the forms impersonal. Now the time has come to integrate the form into the intuitive design process. The designation of color expansion as well as the color boundaries are free from any system and are individually chosen. The geometric character of the pictures is thus put into perspective. The homogenous color application remains. The precise geometry of form is generally also retained. However, the geometric effect is more complex and less calculable. With this new design approach new possibilities are opened for the distribution of color (now free from systematic necessities) and also the distribution and dosage of white – quasi the light in the picture. The liberation from a system determines the further development of the 90s.
